چکیده

Abstract Background The meager physicochemical properties like low solubility and dissolution rate of rosuvastatin calcium remain as an obstruction for formulation development. In the present work, we explore evolution cocrystal, which may offer synergetic physico-chemical drug. Cocrystal crafting depends on two possible intermolecular interactions; heteromeric homomeric selection compounds with complementary functional groups are contemplated a cause supramolecular synthons in cocrystal formation. Specifically, cocrystals l -asparagine -glutamine molar ratio (1:1) were fabricated by using slow solvent evaporation techniques. Novel rosuvastatin-asparagine (RSC-C) rosuvastatin-glutamine (RSC-G) obtained utilized preliminary investigation further scale-up was done technique. Results novel showed new characteristic powder X-ray diffraction, thermograms differential scanning calorimetry, 1 H liquid FT-NMR spectra, electron microscopy. These results signify establishment interaction within cocrystals. both cocrystals, determined to be engaged hydrogen bond -glutamine. Compared pure rosuvastatin, RSC-C RSC-G 2.17-fold 1.60-fold improved respectively. test that exhibited 1.97-fold 1.94-fold higher than pH6.8 phosphate buffer Conclusion Modulation chemical environment, improvement solubility, demonstrated benefit co-crystallization improve Graphical abstract

Pharmaceutical Cocrystals: An Overview

In the last few years, a large number of drugs have been discovered with low aqueous solubility. Among these recently discovered drugs, about 60-70% of the compounds are related to the BCS Class II (low solubility/high permeability) and IV (low solubility/ low permeability)[1,2]. Many active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) have not been developed in formulations due to low aqueous solubility,...

Phytoplankton of Aras dam reservoir (Iran): an attempt to assess water quality

The Aras reservoir, located in the north-west of Iran, plays an important role in fisheries, drinking and agricultural water supplies and recreational activities in the region. This study was performed to characterize the seasonal fluctuations of phytoplankton communities and their relationship with environmental factors in the Aras reservoir from August 2013 to May 2014. Sampling was carried o...

Prediction of Physicochemical Parameters by Atomic Contributions

We present a new atom type classification system for use in atom-based calculation of partition coefficient (log P) and molar refractivity (MR) designed in part to address published concerns of previous atomic methods. The 68 atomic contributions to log P have been determined by fitting an extensive training set of 9920 molecules, with r2 ) 0.918 and σ ) 0.677. A separate set of 3412 molecules ...
